I did some research on the fifth wheel adapter from Nissan for your 2016 Titan XD.
I found out that when the adapter is inserted in the puck system in the bed of the Titan, it will give you base rails that can work with any industry standard fifth wheel hitch. However, in order for it to work with the Titan Boxes you will need to have 5" of clearance from the tailgate to the Titan boxes to allow for the bed expander to lay flush with the tailgate while in the folded position and the tailgate is closed.
